Rise and Recliner Chairs – Everything you need to know

Rise and Recliner Chairs – Everything you need to know
December 05, 2016

Choosing the right recliner chair is important. It can make all the difference to your everyday life. But like most things, there’s so much choice and so many options that finding the right one can quickly turn into a headache.

Choosing the right recliner chair is important. It can make all the difference to your everyday life.

But like most things, there’s so much choice and so many options that finding the right one can quickly turn into a headache.

Even the guides designed to help become confusing. Which is where we come in. No bells and whistles here, just the stuff worth knowing, and not much else.

Electric or manually operated?

Electric recliners use a motor and usually have a TV style remote or buttons on the side to help you recline.

Manual recliners have a hand lever to help you recline and don’t require electricity to work.

Here’s one of ours:

Do you need help getting to your feet when it’s time to stand?

Riser Recliners - As the name suggests, these chairs not only recline, but they also lift and tilt to help you to your feet when you’re ready to stand

Recliners - Everything the rise recliner does. Without the rise bit. (Not everybody needs help getting to their feet)

Single or dual motor?

These are the two main types.

A single motor means that the backrest and footrest move at the same time. As you recline, your feet are also raised

A dual motor rise recliner has independent motors for the backrest and footrest. Choose to recline. Choose to raise your feet. Or both

To give you more of an idea, here’s our Burlington Dual Motor Riser Recliner Chair in action:

How much do you want to spend?

Usually, the more you pay, the more chair you get.

If you are chronically sick or disabled, and the mobility products are for your personal use, you may be exempted from paying VAT.

If you qualify, we’ll simply charge you the VAT-free amount. You never have to pay up front and then reclaim the VAT from the government.

Upon checkout, you will be prompted to give us some details about your VAT exemption.

Once you’ve done that, simply follow the instructions to checkout as normal.

Which products qualify for VAT relief?

  • Wheelchairs
  • Riser Recliners (excludes recline only chairs)
  • Ramps
  • Walking aids (rollators, tri walkers, zimmer frames)
  • Household and bathroom solutions
  • Talking watches

We’ve tried to cover all pockets, but no matter what you spend, everybody gets a quality product with a 12-month warranty and good honest customer service to back it up.

How big is it?

All our rise and recliner chairs include a specifications section, so you can be sure the chair will fit within your space before you buy.

Product Specification

If the information you need is not available for whatever reason, just give us a ring!

Top tip! - If the intended user currently has a chair they are comfortable in, it’s a good idea to measure it and buy one of a similar size.

What is it made of?

Just like buying a sofa. Choose from a range of materials including leather, faux leather, and fabric.

Fenetic Home Set Up

What does your room look like?

Not everyone cares about interior design. It is, however, worth considering how the chair will sit in relation to the rest of your décor. Most of our chairs come with a number of colour options to suit your taste.

Additional features

Some chairs come with additional features:

  • Heat and massage functions
  • Cup holders
  • Pockets
  • Battery backup functions.

As a general rule, the more you spend, the more features the chair will include.

Delivery

Standard delivery on all of our products is FREE.

All our chairs come in 2 pieces to make them easier to get through the front door.

They can be put together and set up in just 10 minutes without the need for tools. We do advise that an able bodied person is at the delivery address on the agreed delivery day, as the base part of the chairs can be heavy.

If nobody is available, we offer a 2 man home set up delivery option. This can be selected during checkout for £50 to guarantee your peace of mind.

Please note: Home set up can take up to 10 working days.

We will contact you to agree a suitable delivery day. Saturday delivery can be arranged for £20, the otherwise standard delivery window is usually between 9 am and 6 pm Monday – Friday.

So there you have it. Our no-nonsense guide to rise and recliner chairs.

Why not check out our range of rise and recliner chairs? We’ve done our best to make sure there’s a chair for every taste and budget.
