Except it has a 250w electric motor that can power you up to 15 miles an hour for as far as 30 miles on a single charge – and even with this power boost, the Fenetic Sprint Electric Mountain Bike is still lighter than standard.
What Is An E-Bike?
From a glance, you might notice that an e-bike doesn’t look too dissimilar to an ordinary bicycle. So, what makes an e-bike different?
If you’ve ever been on a bicycle ride which involves steep hills, you’ll know how exhausting climbing them on an ordinary bicycle can be. E-bikes are fitted with battery-operated electric motors which can make getting around on your bicycle (including up hills) easier.
If getting out and about on an ordinary bicycle is something you find difficult because of physical restrictions then you could benefit from an e-bike which has a Pedal Assist System (PAS).
An e-bike with this system means that as you start to pedal, the bicycle’s motor starts up and makes cycling easier. There are different levels of power with the PAS system, as well as an option to turn it off, meaning you’re in control over how much assistance you require. Some e-bikes come fitted with a throttle. A throttle allows the bicycle to move without any pedalling at all – the choice of whether you pedal or not is totally yours.
