Fenetic Wellbeing Prepare for 160ft Bungee Jump for #ANDYSMANCLUB

It’s been almost three months since we ran 10km through the glorious grounds of Bolton Abbey to raise money for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. It was a tough challenge for a worthy cause, but we think it’s time to up the ante and plan something even more spectacular.

It’s been almost three months since we ran 10km through the glorious grounds of Bolton Abbey to raise money for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

It was a tough challenge for a worthy cause, but we think it’s time to up the ante and plan something even more spectacular.

What is #ANDYSMANCLUB?

An opportunity arose when local rugby player Luke Ambler set up a support group called #ANDYSMANCLUB in memory of his brother in law Andy Roberts, who sadly took his own life earlier this year.

As it turns out, the SINGLE biggest killer of men under the age of 45 is suicide. Around 4,200 men, (that’s one man every 2 hours), a year are taken from this world and their families by suicide. It's a horrifying statistic that nobody seems to be talking about. This is exactly the problem.

The charity has been set up for men to talk and be open about any problems they are facing in a safe environment.

Luke currently funds the weekly meetings from his own back pocket, but with the demand for this kind of support so high across the country, a bit of help could lead to more groups being formed and much needed support being made available for men and their families.

A quick search of the hashtag #ITSOKAYTOTALK may give you an idea of just how much support the cause has received so far.

This is where we come in.

What better way to raise money for a new charity than by doing a 160ft bungee jump?

Now, none of us are great fans of heights, so jumping 160 feet across a pool of water is not something we will be taking lightly. However on Sunday 25th September at Salford Quays, Manchester, we will be doing just that!

With less than two weeks to go excitement is high and nerves are simmering, but we know it will all be worth it!
